Comprehensive Brand Development and User Interface Design

Illgo is a passion project I worked on to sharpen my skills. My professional experience has given me the opportunity to develop branding, build out UI flows, animate launch graphics, debate and finetune conceptual functionality, and write copy for pitching and marketing materials. To showcase this experience in line with proprietary policies, I developed illgo; A culmination of the anthropological research I carry with me from college, and my “newfangled” professional UI experience. From concept to catchphrase this video is all me!

What started as “algo”, a play on the word “algorithm”, got it’s legs when I realized “i’ll go” fit the heart of the idea– creating something that balances the inevitability of the digital world, with the qualitative data I collected in college that reflects a generation’s desire to manage and mitigate the impact of the inevitable.

I built out as much of the UI as possible in Adobe XD, then began screen-recording and editing together suspected user behavior to cobble together a promotional/ demo video.

This process built upon itself. As I wrote copy and recorded voiceover I noticed animation flows that looked and felt unnatural, realized there were problems I punctuated with voiceover but hadn’t well addressed in the app design, and found myself developing preferences for how to better navigate the interface while facing the task of editing it to look like it worked seamlessly. Each part of this project helped refine all others
